A Reflection of a Reflection of a Reflection
A sound sculpture in which sound moves through objects and returns as movement, resonance, and texture.
A bass shaker activates a hand drum covered with granulated sugar. Exciters send vibration into a violin, setar, and recorder, while contact microphones listen to the objects themselves.
The work uses Kraftwerk’s “The Model” (2009 remaster) as sonic material. Panning and EQ separate the sounding objects, giving each its own presence within the installation.
